Thematic Collection: Toronto Metropolitan Police: Service, Programs and Community Relations  

The Centre for Criminology Library is home to an extensive collection of internal and external documents regarding the Toronto Metropolitan Police Service.  

This collection compiles materials from the 1970s to the early 2000s that relate to the Toronto Metropolitan Police Service’s programs, initiatives and organizational goals; internal and external reviews; and, community complaints, perceptions, and relationships.  

For researchers, this collection provides insight into various aspects of the Toronto Metropolitan Police’s historical relationship with citizens and communities, focusing on issues such as of race relations, police misconduct, community partnership, case inquiries, and program reviews.
