Mental Health and Addiction

Thematic Collection: Mental Health and Addiction

The library’s grey literature collection contains several reports, reviews, and research investigations which examine the role of mental health and addiction within the criminal justice system.

This collection brings together materials from 1955 to 1999 that examine drug and alcohol use patterns; punishment, sentencing, and alternative interventions; addiction and mental health treatment within the criminal justice system; and the welfare of people with mental health or addiction struggles throughout the criminal justice process.

For researchers, this collection provides insight into the treatment of vulnerable populations within the field of criminology, and analysis of the how mental health and addiction intersect with the criminal justice system at every level.
